Armed Robber Holds Couple at Gunpoint in Oak Grove Home Invasion

Nothing was taken from the home after the men searched the couple's bedroom, including a jewelry box.

An armed robber pushed his way into an Oak Grove couple's home and held them at gunpoint as he searched their bedroom Thursday afternoon.

The married couple was eating lunch in their kitchen in the 1700 block of Colebrook Circle at about 1pm, according to the DeKalb County police report. When they saw a stranger walking up their driveway, the husband walked to the door to see what the man wanted.

The stranger asked the man if the jeep in his driveway was for sale. The husband said no, and the stranger walked away, the report said. Several minutes later, a second stranger walked up the driveway and the wife opened the door.

"I'm coming in," the second suspect said as he walked inside carrying a semi-automatic handgun. "Turn around, face the counter and give me your watches."

The husband and wife gave the man their watches, and the suspect asked where the couple's jewelry was. He walked them to the master bedroom and forced them to lie on the bed as he rummaged through a jewelry chest, the report said.

The wife told the robber that the jewelry was only worthless costume jewelry as well as the watches, which held only sentimental value. The suspect then wiped off the watches with a green towel he was carrying and then dropped them back in the chest. He told the couple to remain on the bed, and he left the house.

The first suspect who approached the husband about the jeep was described as a black male about 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 140 pounds. He was between 25 and 30 years old with a slim build.

The second suspect was described as a black male about 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 140 pounds. He was between 20 and 25 years old with a slim build and a neat appearance. He wore a black New York Yankees baseball cap, a maroon- and white-striped dress shirt, dark pants and sunglasses, the report said.

Nothing was taken from the home, and the victims were not injured.
