Cocktails for Cancer to Benefit Camp Sunshine

The Sept. 8 event will feature mixologists from some of Atlanta's best restaurants and clubs, pouring custom cocktails from 7-10pm.

Atlanta partygoers will revel Sept. 8 at a unique fundraising event, Cocktails for Cancer, to benefit ’s year-round programs for children with cancer and their families.

The event will feature mixologists from some of Atlanta’s best restaurants and clubs, pouring custom cocktails from 7-10pm at Compound in Atlanta. Mixologists from Holeman & Finch Public House, Lime Taqueria, Iberian Pig, El Escorpion, Rein, Opera, Vanquish, East Andrews and Drinkshop will compete for a cash prize awarded to the best cocktail, as chosen by the guests. Attendees will have a chance to try each cocktail while enjoying delicious hors d’oeuvres catered by Lime Taqueria.

“Last year’s event was such a success. Everyone had a great time,” said Eric Newberg, one of the planners behind Cocktails for Cancer, in a statement. “Camp Sunshine is an important organization that improves the lives of children with cancer and their families all year long and we’re happy to support their work in any way."

In 2010, Cocktails for Cancer raised more than $13,000. Money raised from this year’s event will be used to continue year-round programs for children with cancer across the state of Georgia.

Tickets are now available at, www.mycampsunshine.com, starting at $75. A portion of each ticket is tax deductible.
