What's going on this week in the area? A major decision for the DeKalb Board of Education regarding the Druid Hills Charter Cluster Petition kick things off tonight.

Druid Hills Charter Cluster vote.
The DeKalb County Board of Education is scheduled to vote Monday evening, Nov. 11, on whether to approve the Druid Hills Charter Cluster Petition. The petition would result in the first conversion cluster in the state. The petitioners seek to set up their own governing board and hire an administrator to oversee operations at Druid Hills High and its six feeder schools.

LCA Meeting.
The Lakeside City Alliance will hold another informational meeting Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The meeting will be at the church’s Carlos Community Center. The church is located at 2500 Clairmont Road NE, Atlanta.

Progress DeKalb. The public invited to attend "Progress DeKalb: A Conversation to Move DeKalb Forward," hosted by the DeKalb County government and school district. The meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Agnes Scott College's Presser Hall/Gaines Chapel, 141 East College Ave., Decatur..

DeKalb Neighborhood Summit 2013. 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Courtyard Marriott, 130 Clairemont Ave., Decatur,. This year's summit brings together residents from across DeKalb County to meet, exchange ideas, learn how to partner with county departments, and celebrate DeKalb County. Participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops, visit exhibits, and network with community leaders.

W. D. Thomson Park Volunteer Workday. Join volunteers at 2 p.m  Sunday, Nov. 17, to help keep the park -- located at 1760 Mason Mill Road -- healthy, safe and beautiful.
