Lakeside High SAT Performance Remains Above State, National Average

's performance on the SAT continues to remain above the state and national averages, according to Georgia State Department of Education data released today.

The mean for each section was 533 in reading, 541 in math and 535 in writing totaling 1,609 – an eight-point decrease from the year before. Results for other school can be downloaded from the state department's statement on the results here.

The state total average was 1,445, a six-point decrease from 2010, and the national average was 1,500, also a six-point decrease. The decrease was attributed to the rising number of students taking the exams.

That seems to be the case at Lakeside High. In 2010, 235 students took the exam. That number rose to 329 this year.
