Lavista Chevron Robbed at Gunpoint Saturday

A man walked into the gas station at 3905 Lavista Rd. and robbed it of about $400, DeKalb County police said.

An armed man walked into a Chevron gas station on Lavista Road on Saturday and robbed the register of about $400, DeKalb County police said.

The man walked into the station at 3905 Lavista Rd. and pointed a gun at the cashier at about 10:10pm, demanding he empty the register, the police report said. The robber took $400 from the cash tray, fled the store and headed east.

The robbery was caught on the station's security camera, and a responding officer briefly detained a suspect who was later determined not to have been involved in the crime, the report said.
