Man Shot, 2nd Hurt After Leaving Clairmont/I-85 Restaurant

Victim was part of group of men who had eaten at Waffle House.

Updated 10:40 a.m. Friday: Atlanta Police Capt. Todd Coyt told 11Alive that the shooting victim was shot in the back, but released no other details. A second man, also unidentified, was somehow injured in the incident.

A man was shot early Friday after leaving the Waffle House at Clairmont Road and I-85, media outlets are reporting.

WSB-TV reports that the unidentified man was shot on the I-85 access road after a group of men left the restaurant. The victim is being treated at Emory Hospital Midtown, where a bullet-ridden car sits outside.

Brookhaven, DeKalb and Atlanta police are involved in the investigation.
