POLL: Should RaceTrac Be Allowed to Build on Lawrenceville Highway?

The Atlanta-based gas station and market chain wants to set up across the street from its primary competitor, QuikTrip. But members of the McLendon community aren't thrilled.

Last week, we told you about residents around who between Orion and Hollywood drives.

Nothing's official yet. RaceTrac people say they haven't applied to for permits but need the county to rezone the land on which they plan to build from residential to commercial. The main reason they want to build there?

The popular at 1910 Lawrenceville Highway is right across the street. RaceTrac wants some of their business.

Among the communities that will be affected: Sargent Hills, Evergreen Forest and Storybook Estates. Among the concerns residents have? A negative effect on nearby residential property values. An increase in crime. Pollution. Pollution harming horses at nearby Little Creek Farm. And so forth.
