Ray Charles' Daughter to Give Concert Tomorrow at Atlanta Temple Corps
Sheila Raye Charles will give a free concert and share her story tomorrow night at 7pm.

WHAT: Sheila Raye Charles, the daughter of legendary singer Ray Charles, will give a free concert and share her story at tomorrow at 7pm.
WHY: The daughter of the famous singer has endured much. Her story starts with sexual abuse as a child and ends in federal prison. Crack cocaine, her drug of choice, took complete control of her life.
"Prison saved my life," Sheila Charles said in a statement.
When she was in solitary confinement she found peace and a joy that filled her soul. During her third stint in prison, she called out to the Lord and since that day has committed to singing and telling audiences about how to find a way out. Sheila Charles creates her own distinct style and today is called upon to provide moving renditions of her father’s best known songs from America the Beautiful, Hit the Road Jack and Georgia. She has dedicated her life and her gift to inspire and lighten the path of those on a dark journey. “Speaking at the Celebrate Recovery Program at The Salvation Army is an invaluable blessing," said Maj. Roni Robbins of The Salvation Army Atlanta Temple Corps.
WHEN: Friday, Dec. 16, at 7pm
WHO: Sheila Raye Charles, 200 community guests
WHERE: Atlanta Temple Corps, 2090 North Druid Hills Road NE
