Skyland Trail, Whole Foods Team Up for Pumpkin Fairy Garden Class

The mental health organization and the grocer helped children create fairy homes inside pumpkins on Monday.

On Monday, Skyland Trail and the West Paces Whole Foods teamed up for the organizations' annual Pumpkin Fairy Garden Class. Held during fall break, the event offered children an opportunity to participate in a craft project led by Skyland Trail's art therapist, Susie Sherrill, and horticultural therapist intern, Barb Bohannon. The Skyland Trail specialists helped children create a fairy home inside a pumpkin. Each child left with their very own miniature world where fairies are welcomed.

Using a holistic approach, Skyland Trail treats adults and adolescents suffering from mental illness. It's recovery program includes expressive arts therapy, which is why the nonprofit is proud to partner with Whole Foods for this annual arts and crafts event.
