Spice Up Summer With Retro Flicks at Northlake Movie Tavern

When it comes to local, summer film series everyone in Atlanta seems to focus on the Coca-Cola thing at the Fox Theatre. And that's all well and good, but we've got something equally good if not cooler right here in Northlake – and you get to eat chicken fingers too.

The Northlake Movie Tavern is in the middle of a retro summer film series. Among the movies that have already played: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Top Gun, Jaws, Jurassic Park and Poltergeist. The good stuff. (A lot of Steven Spielberg.)

But they're only halfway through the series. So, make sure you take advantage of the remaining movies. That way, they'll continue to do stuff like this. Each new movie plays on Tuesday at 7pm and Thursday at 9:30pm.

Here's the schedule for the rest of the summer:

• July 7 and 12: The Princess Bride
• July 14 and 19: Fast Times at Ridgemont Hight
• July 21 and 26: E.T.
• July 28 and Aug. 2: Back to the Future
• Aug. 4 and 9: Close Encounters of the Third Kind
• Aug. 11 and 16: Gremlins
• Aug. 18 and 23: Terminator 2: Judgment Day
