VA 'Bursting at Seams,' Expands Into Fort McPherson
The Veterans Administration is spending $40 million to renovate five buildings in the East Point compound.

As the fort prepares to close next month, the department plans to spend $40 million to renovate five buildings on the sprawling East Point compound, according to a WSB-TV report.
One of the largest buildings, which used to be a health clinic for soldiers, will serve as an outpatient service for veterans.

"We are looking forward to this. We really need it. The medical center at Clairmont Road is bursting at the seams," VA Medical Center representative Anne Huguenin told the station.
