What's Up With Extended Stay America Hotel?
The Clairmont Road hotel has had a few... issues, apparently.

Last week, we told you about an unfortunate incident where at the on Clairmont Road.
Shortly after the story was published to the site, a reader reminded us of an incident that occurred at the hotel in 2010.
From a story about it in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about a group of businessmen who stayed in the hotel in September 2010 (and keep in mind, this is after two of them were bitten by bedbugs):

The group traveled from Pennsylvania to Georgia Friday night. Bostic said one of his co-workers checked into a room to find drug paraphernalia – a crack pipe – in his dresser drawer. The following night, the group went out to dinner, and Bostic said he returned to find the door to his room wide open and a screwdriver sticking out from the lock.
It does come as a bit of a surprise to me. I've never stayed in an extended stay hotel, but my assumption has always been that they catered mostly to businessmen temporarily in town for extended periods of time. I also thought they were probably generally more expensive than your average hotel, but maybe not so much it seems.

I did a quick, very general search and found that the nightly rate can range between $65 and $95 a night depending on what you get. Obviously, that's cheap. That said, I'm not sure how Extended Stay America would compare to your average hotel in terms of the number of incidents. Your local Best Western could have similar problems.
But it's good to know about these two incidents if you know of anyone coming to town.
