The Georgia Department of Transportation announces a bridge repair on the approach to the US 78/SR 10/Atlanta Highway westbound bridge to Epps Bridge Parkway. The work will begin Monday morning at 9 a.m. and requires an around the clock lane closure for approximately three weeks as the concrete approach slab is replaced.
The left lane approaching the Epps Bridge Parkway Bridge over US 78/SR 10/Atlanta Highway east will remain open while the right lane is closed for work. Delays are expected in the area. Please avoid the area if possible.

“The concrete approach slab has settled too much and needs to be replaced. Maintenance Forces will remove the existing concrete approach slab and repour a new slab. The concrete will be poured a little at the time and has to cure between each pour so you may not see crews out working while they wait on the concrete to harden but the lane must remain closed around the clock until the approach is rebuilt to the same grade at the bridge,” explained Bill Cantrell, District Maintenance Engineer.
