Charges Rack Up for Man Accused of Beating Elderly Oconee Woman
The victim continues to improve and a benefit account has been established at a local bank in her name.

Jacob Potter Wagner was taken into custody Friday on one count of aggravated battery. On Monday, deputies secured additional warrants charging him with aggravated assault and two counts of burglary, according to the . The Walton County Sheriff's Office also placed a probation hold on Wagner, who remains in the Oconee County Jail.

Meantime, victim Judith Gilvey continues to improve. She had to undergo surgery Friday for severe injuries to her head and face, the result of being struck with a blunt object, authorities said. Sheriff Scott Berry provided , reporting Gilvey was moved from intensive care to a regular patient room at Athens Regional Medical Center on Sunday.
The Judith Gilvey Benefit Fund has been set up at and donations may be dropped off at any branch.

"These funds will be used to offset the cost of her medical bills, rehabilitation and other costs she has incurred as the victim of a brutal violent crime," the Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook.
