The North Oconee Titans will celebrate Homecoming with a parade and pep rally. See what else there is to know in and around Oconee today.
Weather: Mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s are in today's Weather Channel forecast. Expect clear skies and lows in the upper 50s overnight.
Top things to know:
- Ashford Memorial Methodist Church hosts the Watkinsville Garden Club program “Joy’s Gorgeous Gourds.” The Athens Banner-Herald reports the event starts at 10:15 a.m. Lunch will follow.
- For the greatest selection, make plans to attend the Oconee County Library Friends Book Sale preview tonight from 4-8 p.m. The preview sale is for members only but non-members can join for $10 per person or $15 per family at the door. The sale will be open to everyone Oct. 5-7.
- Join the NOHS Titan football team, cheerleaders, band and other athletes and students as they celebrate Homecoming with a parade. It starts at 7 p.m. on the track and concludes with a pep rally around a bonfire. (Note: OCHS isn't having a parade this year.)
- As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Georgia Museum of Art is holding a Latin American Film Festival through Nov. 1. Every Thursday evening a different film will be screened. Tonight there will be a showing of the Venezuelan film "Postales de Leningrado."
