An Athens man on a church outing drowned in South Carolina's Hartwell lake Saturday after swimming toward an offshore buoy, the Anderson Independent Mail reports.
Elio Segura, 33, went under at the Singing Pines Recreation Area, just across the Georgia-South Carolina line, about 1:30 p.m., authorities told the paper. He had swum out about 60 yards and may have experienced cramps on his way back.

Segura was married with a 1-year-old son, according to WYFF TV.
It was the first drowning in Anderson County, S.C., this year.

Officers responding to a report of a single vehicle crash spotted 39-year-old running completely naked near the intersection of Sugarloaf Parkway and Old Norcross Road.
Holt had reportedly crashed her 2002 Pontiac Grand Am into a sign at a subdivision at the intersection of Sugarloaf and Isham Drive. When questioned by officers, Holt allegedly said her clothes "just fell off" and she was running home to her apartment about a mile down the road.
Holt was taken into custody and charged with failure to maintain lane, hit and run, and disorderly conduct for appearing nude in public.

Six-year-old Ross Bernath made an unassisted triple play during a recent game at , as reported by USA Today. The video of the play has gone viral on YouTube and been featured on ESPN.
Ross made the unassisted triple play which, in the history of even Major League Baseball, only 15 have ever been recorded dating back to 1909.
