Furkids Animal Rescue And Shelters Expanding To Peachtree Corners
"We are thrilled to kick off 2020 with a brand new facility to serve pet lovers," Samantha Shelton, Furkids CEO and founder, said.

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA—Furkids Animal Rescue and Shelters is expanding to add a Pet Adoption and Community Resource Center in Peachtree Corners. It will be conveniently located next to the existing Furkids Thrift Store, representatives for the animal rescue said.
The new facility will house adoptable cats and kittens, and will be open seven days per week for adoptions, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020. Veterinary services will follow, beginning with a series of vaccination clinics to be announced.
Furkids reps say they welcome volunteers in the area to help care for, socialize and find homes for animals in the new facility. The new center will also function as a FurCab transportation hub between Furkids’ main cat shelter in Cumming, Furkids locations in Petco and PetSmart stores, and foster homes.

Furkids’ pet fosters and volunteers in the area will also visit the facility for supplies, medical services for foster pets and for training and support provided by Furkids, reps said.
On Jan. 1, 2020, Furkids relocated its headquarters and cat shelter to Cumming, consolidating its operations to North Metro Atlanta. Furkids' headquarters and cat shelter remains at 5235 Union Hill Road in Cumming; and the dog shelter, Sadie’s Place, remains at 1520 Union Hill Road in Alpharetta.

In order to continue to serve the Gwinnett/Dekalb/Fulton communities centered in and around Peachtree Corners, Furkids reps say they made a strategic decision to add this satellite location, strategically located next to its existing thrift store.
“We are thrilled to kick off 2020 with a brand new facility to serve pet lovers in Peachtree Corners and surrounding areas," said Samantha Shelton, Furkids CEO and founder. “Earlier this month, we moved our headquarters and cat shelter on Pleasantdale Road in Gwinnett County to Cumming, with a plan to open an adoption center to continue to serve our Atlanta community and enhance our offerings. In addition to pet adoptions, we’ll also be connecting to our surrounding community by offering basic veterinary services to the public in the near future. We will continue to offer volunteer opportunities for people of all ages, including our FurTales reading to cats program for children. And, this new center will facilitate more efficient and effective shelter operations by functioning as a hub for the many activities Furkids undertakes on a daily
basis, allowing Furkids to save even more lives.”
Dogs will visit the new adoption and community resource center, as well as Furkids headquarters, periodically for adoption and volunteer events. In addition, Furkids will maintain its existing cat adoption centers at several Atlanta area Petco and PetSmart stores, and will also maintain its TransFUR program that transports Georgia’s homeless animals to no-kill shelters in northern states where they are highly adoptable.
This new Furkids pet adoption and community resource center, along with the Furkids Thrift Store next door, are easily accessible from I-285 and I85 via Holcomb Bridge Road. The facility is near the intersection of Spalding Drive and Holcomb Bridge Road.
“We are so happy to welcome friends and neighbors to our newest location as we once again expand the array of our lifesaving programs,” Shelton said.
