The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a joint military effort between the United States and Canada, normally devoted to air defense and safety.
NORAD’s tradition of using radar to track Santa began in 1955, after a child mistakenly called the command by misdialing a “Talk To Santa” number that had been published in a Sears Roebuck & Co. advertisement.
