Rome patients and families should expect masking in key care areas, limits on young visitors, and possible delays reaching the hospital because of road construction around Shorter Avenue, Turner McCall Boulevard, North Second Avenue, and Martha Berry Boulevard.

• Floyd County Commission defers budget vote to 2026 (northwestgeorgianews.com) — Floyd County commissioners have delayed final approval of the 2026 budget until January so all members can participate, while projecting about $81.1 million in revenue next year. Leaders also highlighted public safety pay improvements and facility changes that include the Rome Police Department’s move and converting the former joint law enforcement center into additional court space serving local residents.

• Cherokee County Arrest Files for Wednesday, December 10 - WEIS (weisradio.com) — Regional arrest reports from Cherokee County, Alabama, include a 27-year-old resident of Rome charged with drug-related offenses by Cedar Bluff Police. The log lists several other individuals from nearby Alabama towns and notes that all are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
