Alair Marietta Helps Create a Dream Bedroom for Roswell Child

The Roswell bedroom project was coordinated by local nonprofit Sunshine on a Ranney Day to provide a quiet, peaceful space for a young girl.

Alair Homes Marietta recently participated in the company’s first home remodeling project with Sunshine on a Ranney Day (https://www.sunshineonaranneyday.com) to help a Roswell family. According to Alair Homes Marietta Project Manager Sydney Nunes, it was a huge success, as well as a pleasure. Sunshine on a Ranney Day works with community partners to renovate homes for children with special needs, using top-of-the-line construction and design. The renovations are provided at no cost to the family and could include wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, dream bedrooms and in-home therapy rooms.

“Our team was very excited to participate in creating a dream bedroom for a young Roswell girl,” said Sydney. “The child suffers from sensory issues and desperately needed to move out of the bedroom she shared with two siblings. Alair Homes Marietta joined other construction professionals to transform the home’s dining room into a beautiful and peaceful bedroom just for her.”

Sydney invited her sister, Lindsey Contant, interior designer and owner of Design Contant, LLC., to participate in the fun of this life-impacting project. “Our involvement included building a cozy window seat flanked by floor-to-ceiling bookshelves to create an inviting, private reading area for the child”, Sydney explained. “While working around the window, we asked partner Simonton Windows to help by replacing the existing sashes with tempered glass for added safety. The seat and shelves were crafted by Alair’s skilled carpenters at our office, then installed at the home. Like Alair Homes Marietta, Design Contant, LLC and Simonton Windows volunteered their services for the project. We also donated carpentry work to complete the room’s wainscoting, crown moulding and baseboards. It was extremely satisfying for us to offer our skills and time to help Sunshine on a Ranney Day enhance the quality of life for this little girl and her family.”
