Annual Warm Coat Drive Underway In North Fulton
North Fulton Community Charities is collecting coats, jackets and accessories for less fortunate families.
ROSWELL, GA — North Fulton Community Charities has launched its Annual Warm Coat Drive, which will collect new and gently worn coats, jackets and accessories such as hats, scarves and gloves for less fortunate adults and children.
The 2018 campaign marks the 24th year of an initiative started in 1994 by Girl Scout Cadet Troop 628. The collection culminates in Warm Coat Day, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 27. In 2017, more than 220 families received coats for the entire family.
"Warm Coat Day is so important to the families that participate because it allows them to prepare their family for winter without the burden of that expense while they focus on providing other basic necessities," said NFCC Events Coordinator Jacquie Tracy. "Many of our families are struggling just to stay in their homes as rent prices in North Fulton continue to soar."
