- Last March the Metro Atlanta area was introduced to MARTA Reach during a six-month program pilot period. This new concept from the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL), allows customers the ability to call a REACH shuttle to a normal MARTA rail or bus stop or to one of several stops included on their service route. This program, an alternative to a traditional fixed-route bus system, offers on-demand transportation. In May of 2022, the North Fulton Zone was added. This added the service to the cities of Roswell and Alpharetta. Response to the program was very positive; MARTA Reach provided transportation to over 8,000 patrons during the March-August pilot period. Now the Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL) and authority board members are in the process of deciding how to proceed with the program, and to how to include underserved areas. - The Roswell Woman’s Club (RWC) will be presenting their annual Spring Home and Garden Tour. on Saturday, April 22. This will be the second year that the group will host this fundraising event. Those in attendance will be able to tour the charming and note-worthy homes and gardens in the historic Roswell district. The Spring Home and Garden Tour will also feature a silent auction. Like all RWC fundraisers, the proceeds from this occasion will be filtered back into the Roswell and North Fulton community via scholarships and grants. (roughdraftatlanta.com)
- On March 20 an employee of a Shell gas station on Alpharetta Hwy. called the Roswell Police Department to report that the store's door was open and the ATM machine was stolen. The ATM machine appeared to be the only thing that was taken, however, upon investigation of the scene, officers found that the metal door to the cash register had also been forced open. The store surveillance footage provided footage of three males exiting a black Jeep. The thieves used crowbars to gain entry into the gas station. The ATM was removed and put it in the car. The register was forced open by the other two men. They could not retrieve the safe that was bolted to the ground. The assailants covered the car's plate, therefore, street camera footage from Alpharetta Highway did not show the car's license plate. (appenmedia.com)
