Here are the top stories in Roswell today:
- On Monday, June 19, the City of Roswell observed and celebrated Juneteenth at City Hall. Many city leaders came out to help commemorate of end of slavery in the United States. Renowned author, professor, intellectual, and American South historian, Dr. Maurice J. Hobson was the guest speaker. Dr. Hobson was graciously welcomed by Mayor Kurt Wilson, the City of Roswell staff, and community leaders. He studies the history and viewpoints of African Americans in the South and has been an expert witness in multiple court cases. Dr. Hobson has also been a consultant to many documentaries such as "Maynard," and others. He spoke about the history of slavery, and the road to emancipation in the United States. (Facebook)
- If you're looking for a unique "Jurassic Park-like" dinosaur experience, you don't have to travel very far. The Dino Safari is an action-packed pre-historic adventure that is located at nearby North Point Mall. Visitors will explore the archaic supercontinent Pangea to learn about the types of dinosaurs that lived there in this interactive exhibition. The attraction was created by paleontologist, Dr. Gregory Erickson, whose goal was to allow visitors to be fully immersed in the Age of Reptiles. The Dino Safari will be open until the month of September. (Newsbreak)
- On May 29, employees at the Wendy's fast-food restaurant on Mansell Road, told police that they were threatened by a customer who had a gun. According to employees, a woman pulled out a gun and pointed it at them while she complained about a food order. The employees said that the woman continued to point the gun at multiple people even after they assured her that the item she was asking for was in her bag. She then left the scene in a Ford SUV. The case is still under investigation, and police have yet to identify the suspect. (Appen Media)

- City of Roswell, Georgia Government: The month of June is filled with plenty of family-friendly affairs in Roswell, and as always, the Roswell365 team is keeping residents up to date on everything that's going on. This week the Tanglewood Marionettes will begin their production of "Cinderella" at the Cultural Arts Center. The Rotary Club's Comedy for a Cause show, the Author Talk with Terri Parlato, and Riverside Sounds are just some of the many events going on in town this week.
