The Roswell Reads 20th anniversary Fredrik Backman event May 14 is SOLD OUT. Thanks to everyone who purchased tickets, a Roswell Reads record was set: All seats sold in just five days!

Signed copies of Backman’s “My Friends” are still available through Bookmiser, as are copies of Mary Kay Andrews’ “Summers at the Saint,” along with both authors’ previously published titles.

Backman is a Swedish blogger, columnist and No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of “A Man Called Ove,” “Beartown,” “Anxious People” and several other novels, two novellas and one work of nonfiction, “Things My Son Needs to Know About the World.”

His new book, “My Friends,” is an unforgettably funny, deeply moving tale of four teenagers whose friendship creates a bond so powerful that it changes a complete stranger’s life 25 years later. A stunning testament to the transformative, timeless power of friendship and art, Backman’s latest work is a reminder that happy endings don’t always take the form we expect.

Andrews, who will be moderating Backman’s discussion, is the New York Times bestselling author of 32 novels, the first of which, “Every Crooked Nanny,” was published in 1992 by HarperCollins. She went on to write 10 critically acclaimed mysteries under her real name, Kathy Hogan Trocheck. In 2002, she assumed the pen name Mary Kay Andrews with the publication of “Savannah Blues.” “Hissy Fit,” published in 2006, became her first New York Times bestseller, followed by 15 more New York Times, USA Today and Publisher’s Weekly bestsellers.
