Here are the top three stories in Roswell today:

  1. The Fulton County Department of Community Development, Youth and Community Services Division is looking for high school students in grades 9 through 11 to join their Youth Commission program for the 2023-24 school year. This program's goal is to " advocate for children and youth issues" by helping students address and face issues that today's youth deal with. The Youth Commission program develops leadership skills, serves as a conduit between leaders in the community and the county's youth. Those who participate in the program are expected to spend about 20 hours monthly for meetings and project. More information can be found on Fulton County's website, and the deadline to apply is 5:00 PM on Friday, May 19. (fultoncountyga.gov)
  2. Kimberly-Clark Professional, a Roswell-based company, has announced its sponsorship of the My Green Lab Ambassador Program. Kimberly-Clark is an international leader in control solutions to prevent contamination in cleanrooms and laboratories. My Green Lab is a non-profit organization that develops an international "culture of sustainability in science" and standards. Ashley Davis, the Global Sustainability Manager of Kimberly-Clark Professional, says that "This sponsorship is in keeping with Kimberly-Clark's global 2030 ambition, which is to improve the lives of 1 billion people in underserved communities around the globe with the smallest environmental footprint." This new sponsorship shows how Roswell's Kimberly-Clark aims to be at the center of the transition to reuse economy. (www.cleveland19.com)
  3. Cristina Kisner, the owner of Cristy’s Kitchen in Roswell, had a new cookbook come out yesterday, April 18. Her cookbook models the menu of her gluten-free and dairy-free organic café and bakery by noting over 130 recipes. A native of Peru, Kisner says that her challenges in her family have influenced her "journey" and is translated in her cookbook. All of the recipes she shares have no ingredients with processed sugars, dairy or gluten. She will hold an author open event and book signing on April 22 at her bakery, Cristy’s Kitchen, on Alpharetta Street in Roswell. (eastcobber.com)
