The Gwinnett County Veterans Day Ceremony Has New Location

Instead of the Fallen Heroes Memorial, the Thursday ceremony will be held in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center's auditorium.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — The location of the Gwinnett County Veterans Day ceremony has changed due to the weather forecast, county officials shared in a news release.

The event is usually held at the Fallen Heroes Memorial, located on the north end of the parking lot at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. The ceremony has been moved to the building’s auditorium, located on the first floor of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, adjacent to the front entrance.

County Administrator Glenn Stephens will emcee the event with District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden, District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins III and District 4 Commissioner Marlene Fosque providing remarks.

Maj. General (ret.) Ronald Johnson, a professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s ceremony. In the Army, Johnson served as the deputy commanding general and deputy chief of engineers, the second highest-ranking senior engineer staff officer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
