Household Hazardous Waste Collection On Nov. 3

The city of Roswell's event will be held at its Public Works Facility on Hembree Road.

ROSWELL, GA — The Roswell Public Works/Environmental Department will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event next month at its Solid Waste Facility.

Residents can drop off certain items from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3 at the building at 1810 Hembree Road. Please note the event will not be held at the Roswell Recycling Center, and is for Roswell residents only. No commercial entities will be allowed to participate.

Items accepted:

  • Paint thinner/turpentine
  • Pesticides including: fertilizers, herbicides, flea and tick products, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides
  • Undiluted pool chemicals
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Propane gas cylinders
  • Mercury thermometers/thermostats
  • Household batteries (non-rechargeable)
  • Aerosols including aerosol paint
  • Automotive brake fluid/used motor oil filters
  • Gasoline

No latex paint or oil-based paint will be accepted, as those items can be dropped off at the Roswell Recycling Center. Call the center Tuesday through Saturday at 770-0442-8822 for more information.

The CARE Environmental Corporation will be handling and disposing of the materials. Materials cannot be dropped off prior to the event.
