Music Therapy Center Announces Fall Recital

Thanks to Beth Hampsire of Roswell-based Music Therapy Services of Greater Atlanta for passing along word about its annual fall recital Nov. 9 at the Steinway Piano Galleries in Alpharetta. The performances will be at 10:45 a.m., 12 noon and 1:15 p.m.:

The recital will feature about 30 students, half of whom have special needs. Solos and  duets will be performed on a variety of instruments including piano, guitar, drums, and voice.

Music Therapy Services of Greater Atlanta has provided music therapy and music lessons to metro Atlanta’s surrounding cities since 1998. Today, the practice has grown to encompass three offices located in Roswell (main), Suwanee, and Smyrna and a staff of six music therapists. 

The recital will conclude with a faculty performance from the popular movie Brave, Jimmy Fallon-style. MTS staff believes giving all children the opportunity to perform in front of an audience is a valuable part of developing not only musicianship but interpersonal skills and self-esteem.
