'Riverside Sounds' Continues This Weekend

Roswell’s Riverside Sounds concert series continues this weekend with Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, Saturday, June 1.

Blair Crimmins & The Hookers deliver a ragtime jazz sound that gets the audiences up and dancing and transports them back into a world in which men still wear bowties and golf caps while performing.

These free monthly outdoor concerts are held at Roswell Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Road, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Guests are invited to bring blankets and coolers. A shuttle service will be offered this year to transport attendees to the park from the Ace Sand lot on Riverside Drive. And, new this year, we will be hosting several food trucks at each concert provided through Fork In The Road.

  • July 6: Serenata

What started as a trio has grown into an eight-piece band—and the hottest Latin group in town with their salsa, merengue, Latin jazz, and Cumbia rhythms.

  • August 3: Joe Grandsen

This trumpeter and vocalist is renowned for his hard-bop trumpet approach and a singing voice that has been compared to Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra.

  • September 7: The Revivalists

A breakout band from New Orleans with a blend of soulful, syncopated rock and earnest songwriting.

  • October 5: Randall Bramblett Band

With a career spanning more than three decades, this musical “utility man” (proficient on keyboards and sax, as well as several other instruments) has worked with performers such as Gregg Allman, Bonnie Raitt, Robbie Robertson, and Widespread Panic.

Riverside Sounds concerts are produced by Roswell’s Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department with support from sponsors, including Hands On Family Chiropractic,  Scroggin & Company, Spencer Pest Services, Lee J. Howard Entertainment, The Roswell Neighbor and 97.1 The River.
