Here are the top three stories today in Roswell:

  1. Richard Rhinehart is the city's new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Rhinehart has spent almost three decades in executive leadership and organizational management roles. Mayor Wilson said that "Richard's professional experience and training is unmatched. We're excited to see how his leadership will help fortify the skills of our great team and create unique opportunities for the professional development of our staff." Rhinehart will work in tandem with Roswell's senior leadership team to aid the mayor and council with prioritizing strategies and to help organize goals. He will report to the city administrator. 2. Roswell Police were called to an apartment on Hemingway Lane after a woman reported finding bullet holes in her door. The caller told police that she returned to her home on the evening of March 25 and saw that three bullet holes were in her front door and shell casings were on the ground around her apartment. Footage on a neighbor's Ring camera depicted two people with ski masks who ran down the stairwell earlier that afternoon. Another neighbor did call the police department earlier that day to report shots being fired nearby. After canvassing the area and speaking to residents in the neighborhood, police believe that this incident was “possibly a failed home invasion attempt.” The case is still under investigation. 3. The Roswell City Council has officially approved for Fulton County to manage its municipal election in November. The council voted on the proposal at Monday's meeting. For a minimum cost of $814,420, the county will conduct the city's election. That total includes a minimum amount of $554,028 for the general election, as well as an extra charge of $260,392 if a runoff occurs. The cost of opening a second location at East Roswell Library for early voting was also approved. On Councilmember Beeson's recommendation, the council will also offer Alpharetta and Johns Creek an agreement to share costs to share East Roswell Library as a voting location for those municipalities.
