Here are the top three stories in Roswell today:
- There will be an upcoming wellness day for the entire community that will be hosted by the City of Roswell. The Family Health & Wellness Expo will take place on Saturday, May 13 at Riverside Park. The day will be filled with fitness demonstrations, live music, samples from healthcare professionals, free health screenings and plenty of activities. This day is not only an opportunity to push the message of the importance of community health and wellness, but it's also a way to give local families a way to meet local health professionals. There is still time for healthcare professionals and businesses in the city to apply to become a vendor. (roswellgov.com)
- The Roswell Police Department is currently searching for a 25-year old male who went missing on the evening of Thursday, April 27. They are asking the community to be on the lookout for Ross Kirila, who was last seen around 8:00 PM at his home on Spring Drive in Roswell. Police believe that he left his home on foot and did not take his telephone or wallet. Anyone with any information regarding the missing man is asked to call Detective McGinniss at the Roswell Police Department. (11alive.com)
- The most recent Roswell Mayor and City Council meeting took place on Monday, April 24, at City Hall. Some of the major highlights from the meeting was a presentation given by Senator Albers and Representative Silcox that gave an overview of the legislative session to the mayor, the council and the meeting's attendees. The council also approved text amendments regarding the installation of screening walls and fences on residential properties and the distance requirements between a main residence and a carriage house. The council also voted to commence with the first issuance of bonds that were approved in November's election. Senior Airman Joseph Crowley and Staff Sergeant Donna Crowley were also declared Esteemed Veterans of Roswell at Monday's meeting. (roswellgov.com)
