  1. On Tuesday, February 28, Roswell police received a call reporting gunshots and screaming near Old Ferry Way. When responding officers arrived they found a man lying on the ground near an empty black Pontiac that had the engine running and the driver side door was open. 2. Parents from Roswell, Georgia were awarded $6.1 million from a Louisiana jury regarding the hazing death of their son at Louisiana State University. Stephen and Rae Ann Gruver filed a lawsuit in 2018 against LSU after their son passed away while being hazed at the Phi Delta Theta fraternity house. In a statement released by the family's attorney, Jonathon Fazzola, the Gruvers said “The verdict sends a message about how serious juries take hazing. And rightfully so.” Since their son's death, the Gruvers have created the Max Gruver Foundation. This nonprofit fights to ending hazing on college campuses. (newsbreak.com)

The club will be located on Market Blvd. and is said to offer 14 professional grade courts and will be membership-focused. Pickleball has gained more acceptance and popularity since the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Roswell will be the Ace Pickleball Club's first ever location. The owners have plans to open more locations across the country. (appenmedia.com)
  4. The Roswell Fire Department had to contend with another structure fire this weekend. Fire crews were called to the scene in a neighborhood near Woodstock Road and Elizabeth Cove. Woodstock Road between Legacy Drive and Middleton Place was closed off while firefighters put out the blaze and packed up their equipment. The fire was successfully extinguished and no injuries or fatalities were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is still under investigation by the Roswell Fire Department.
