Roswell Reads, a program of Friends of the Roswell Library, in partnership with the city of Roswell and Bookmiser, will present a conversation with Jennifer Coburn, USA Today bestselling author of six novels and other works. The event will be Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Roswell Library, 115 Norcross St., Roswell.

Coburn will discuss her most recent historical novel, released just four days earlier, “The Girls of the Glimmer Factory.” A heartfelt World War II story of courage, the novel concerns two women filmmakers who use their talents to take their destinies, and the lives of millions of innocents, into their own hands. Bookmiser will have copies available to purchase and have personalized.

Coburn also wrote “Cradles of the Reich,” another historical novel concerning the strength of women’s friendships and the connections that can be forged during even the most harrowing of times. Her other titles include a mother-daughter travel memoir, “We’ll Always Have Paris,” as well as four more contemporary women’s novels. Additionally, Coburn has contributed to five literary anthologies, including “A Paris All Your Own.”

When not going down historical research rabbit holes, the San Diego resident volunteers with So Say We All, a live storytelling organization for which she serves as a performer, producer and performance coach. She also volunteers with Reality Changers, a nonprofit that supports low-income high school students in becoming the first in their families to attend college. Coburn said she specializes in college essay development, interview prep and nagging.
