Roswell Resident Wins Over $40K at World Series of Poker
John Owen recently won $44,655 in the 43rd Annual World Series of Poker.
Roswell resident John Owen held his own against thousands of competitors during the 43rd Annual World Series of Poker still going on at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
According to the tournament website, Owen took home $44,655 in total World Series of Poker and circuit earnings this year. His playing earned him the 179 ranking out of 6,598 players in the No-Limit Hold'em main event, which has a $10,000 buy-in.
The top nine players will return to play the final rounds during October.

The annual poker tournament, which consists of the game’s most popular poker variations, dates back to 1970 and is televised on ESPN.
