Here are the top four stories in Roswell today:

  1. Two local teenagers have been arrested after their friend was shot in the face earlier this month. On March 3, Roswell police were called to a residence on Wexford Hollow Run and found a teenage boy who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was transported to the hospital after suffering serious injuries. Upon initial questioning officers found out that the shooting occurred in the basement while the victim was with two friends. The Roswell PD believe that the shooting was a result of the juveniles misusing the weapon. The case is still under investigation. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. A Roswell woman reported to police that she was targeted by a cryptocurrency scam that involved the company Coinbase. On March 2 she told police that she received a phone call that notified her that her that someone was trying to access authentication codes from her Coinbase account. She believed she was trying to stop a thief from hacking her account and proceeded to verify her information with who she thought was an employee from Coinbase via email. She later discovered that $82,000 was removed from her account. Coinbase was able to track the account that stole her funds to an IP address in Florida. (appenmedia.com)
  3. A 41-year-old Roswell man was sentenced in Cherokee County to 50 years in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing a minor. He was specifically charged and found guilty of rape, child molestation and incest after a report was made in 2016 of him abusing a young girl when she was between the ages of eight and eleven. He will serve 50 years in prison, then will receive life on probation after release. (atlantanewsfirst.com)
  4. The Roswell Woman’s Club's 2nd annual Spring Home and Garden Tour will be next month. This tour will feature the décor inspiration of historic homes. The money earned from ticket sales will benefit education and charities in North Fulton. Since 1997, the Roswell Woman's Club has awarded over $2.4 million in grants and scholarships throughout the community. They gave out 14 scholarships to high school seniors and 34 educator grants for teachers last year alone. The Spring Home and Garden Tour will be on April 22, and tickets will go on sale this month.   • AJRA Crew: Roswell's Atlanta Junior Rowing Association (AJRA) traveled to Turkey Lake to compete in the OARS Youth Invite Regatta. The AJRA entered 21 boats into the race. They won nine medals from the competition's different events. (AJRA Crew via Instagram)
  • Roswell High School Football: Big Oak Tavern has partnered with Roswell HS to give support to their football department. On March 26 Big Oak Tavern will allocate some of their proceeds from dine-in and takeout orders to donate to Roswell HS Football. (Roswell High School Football via Facebook)
  • Visit Roswell, Georgia: Roswell's Sip and Savor event is coming to town on April 30. Dorsey Alston Realtors is bringing this culinary extravaganza is will showcase over 20 premier chefs to the city.
