  1. The Addictions 911 event will be at the Parc on Pennsylvania Avenue this Saturday, Aug. 20. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and is free to attend. A free hot lunch will be offered along with a gift card raffle. The event is meant as a safe place for individuals struggling with substance use disorder in Savannah. (WSAV.com)
  2. Chatham County will be participating in the Cities and Counties for Fine & Fee Justice (CCFFJ) program. The criminal justice reform program is meant to support communities in rethinking reliance on financial penalties. The national average of general revenue through fines and fees is 2 percent. Chatham County localities rely on more than 10 percent. (The Current)
  3. Savannah State University has appointed a new Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Yolanda W. Page, Ph.D. will serve as the university's new chief academic officer effective Sep. 6. She was chosen through a nationwide search. (Savannah Tribune)
