  1. The Savannah City Council approved $7.8 million in funding to renovate the police headquarters building. Planned renovations include replacing the HVAC system and windows, upgrading the hot water system, and removing asbestos. As part of the approved investments, another $696,000 will go toward police equipment. (Subscription: Savannah Morning News)
  2. An accident involving a tractor-trailer has caused the pedestrian bridge in Savannah's Factors Walk to close temporarily. The truck struck the bridge when it passed beneath it and ended up wedged beneath the bridge. The closure is expected to last several days. (WJCL News Savannah)
  3. The teenage victim of a hit-and-run in Savannah on Thursday morning has died. The driver in the incident was arrested and is facing a charge of murder in the teen's death. Savannah police say the case remains under investigation. (WJCL News Savannah)
