• What to know about projects coming to Tybee Island in 2026 (savannahnow.com) — Major work is coming to Tybee Island in 2026 that Savannah-area residents will feel, from a $1 million dune project along the Savannah River shipping channel to a $20 million beach renourishment. The city also plans sewer fixes after recent spills, a new 60-inch drainage pipe, progress on a new fire station, and a master plan for Memorial Park and Solomon Avenue improvements.
   

• Called to Carmel:Sister Maryann Koine makes solemn vows (mississippicatholic.com) — Savannah readers may be interested to know that the Carmelite monastery here closed in 2024, prompting Sister Maryann Koine—who first entered Carmel in Savannah in 2015—to transfer to Jackson, Mississippi. There she recently made her solemn vows, marking a lifelong commitment to contemplative religious life, supported by family from Kenya and her new community.
