Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- Healthy Savannah is considering bringing back a Savannah food policy council. The proposal is an effort to analyze the city and county's food insecurity issues. According to Healthy Savannah, 1 in 6 children in the state is food insecure. The food policy council will reportedly be able to proactively fight food insecurity in Savannah and Chatham County. (WSAVE)
- A new Netflix movie is in production across the Savannah area. The movie stars Chris Evans and Emily Blunt. The production was shooting scenes at Ogeechee Road's Traveler's Inn on Tuesday. Shooting will reportedly wrap up on Friday in Savannah. (WJCL)
- Savannah's Ann Purcell, the Secretary of the State Transportation Board of Georgia, provided the Rotary Club of Savannah South with road project updates on Tuesday. According to Purcell, the widening project of I-16 from I-95 into Savannah won't be finished until the end of next year. The state's Department of Transportation is reportedly working on easing traffic in the new Hyundai Megasite in Bran County. Purcell urged anyone with safety concerns to reach out to the board.
