Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- Healthy Savannah has been funding a series of community faith-based events throughout the city to spread COVID-19 vaccine awareness. The latest event occurred on Saturday at the Greater Gaines Chapel AME Church. So far, the organization has funded four events. The organization is also distributing funds to faith organizations to support community health needs. (fox28media.com)
- The American Nuclear Society's Savannah River Section awarded Benjamin Memorial Awards to local students. The scholarships are meant to support first-year college students with education costs for the 2022-2023 school year. The awards honor long-time member Dr. Richard Benjamin that passed in 2014. This is the awards' ninth year of supporting local students. (Charleston Post Courier)
- Chatham County Safety Net Planning Council offered dental services this last weekend. The services were offered free of charge at Garden City Recreation Center for individuals that didn't have dental insurance. Dental cleanings, fillings, x-rays, and cancer screenings were some of the dental services being offered. (WTOC)
