Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- Garibaldi Savannah is holding a special reception for Highclere Castle Gin this Thursday with special guest Lord Carnarvon, the 8th Earl of Carnarvon, and the resident of the famous Highclere castle, which was made famous in the series "Downtown Abbey." The luxury spirit company, which has won over 100 awards, will only be making two stops in America, and one of the two will be here in Savannah. The event will take place on Thursday, Mar. 23 at 6:00 p.m., and tickets are available to purchase online for $125 per person. (Connect Savannah.com)
- Savannah's Earth Day celebration returns Apr. 21, and registration is now open for volunteers and exhibitors. The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Daffin Park and will feature food trucks, educational activities, and performances for the whole family. - An Instagram account run by a student at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) has gone viral for posting images of inedible meals at the Cafe at the Hive dining hall on campus. Photos going back to 2019 showed uncooked chicken, metal pieces in sandwiches, and more. Both SCAD and their service supplier Bon Appetit have released statements saying their protocols "exceed local and national requirements." (WSAV-TV)
