Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:
- A Georgia man has been indicted in Chatham County for causing a fatal Memorial Day weekend boating accident. Mark Stegall, 45, has been charged with 10 counts of homicide by vessel, six counts of serious injury by vessel, boating under the influence, and reckless operation for causing the incident that killed five individuals. The boating incident occurred on May 28 on Wilmington River near Savannah. (Savannah Patch)
- The new mascot for the Savannah Ghost Pirates has been unveiled. The name "Davy" was chosen after the team received thousands of name submissions. The team's marketing department eventually chose Davy from a list of 10 finalists. Click the following link to watch the video. (WTOC)
- The Savannah Police Department is investigating a Thursday morning shooting that occurred on West 28th Street. According to the department, 22-year-old Phoenix Odom was declared dead from a gunshot wound. There is a $2,5000 reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest. (WTOC)
