Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- Some county residents are concerned about a proposed zoning change regarding a manufacturing center near I-16 along John Carter Road. The Savannah Economic Development Authority has petitioned for the site to be rezoned from light industrial to heavy industrial. The authority reports that the change would attract better jobs to the area. The area's neighbors report that they were not adequately notified of the proposal. (WTOC)
- The Savannah Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at Alabama Avenue and Avondale Park on Saturday evening. According to the department, two individuals were injured during the incident. The injuries are reportedly not life-threatening. As of Sunday evening, the investigation details have not been released. (WTOC)
- Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Bill Lee collapsed while warming up in Savannah on Friday night. The 75-year-old pitcher suffered a cardiac episode during the Savannah Bananas exhibition game. There has not been an update about Lee's condition as of Sunday evening. (Fox13Memphis)
