  1. Sol C. Johnson High School in Savannah-Chatham County has been named a 2022 School of Excellence by the American College Application campaign. It comes as part of the Georgia Apply to College campaign aimed at increasing the number of first-generation college students and those from low-income families. Student Council President Jenniya Sams said the award demonstrates the hard work of the staff and students at the school to achieve success and live up to the school's motto. Johnson High School is among 23 schools across the country recognized for helping students pursue post-secondary education. (WSAV-TV)
  2. Are you on the hunt for a new job? Amazon is hiring 80 warehouse associates for its fulfillment center in Savannah and is conducting a job fair on May 9 to hire for full-time and part-time positions. Applicants can also visit amazon.com/flexiblejobs to apply and choose an appointment time that works for them. (WJCL News Savannah)
  3. Captain D's is opening a new location at 29 W. DeRenne Ave. in Savannah and is hosting a fundraiser for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation from Apr. 26-30, with donations from customers matched by the restaurant. The foundation provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and builds specially-adapted smart homes for injured veterans and first responders. Captain D's hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. (WJCL News Savannah)
