Ashley Christopher makes her classroom the 'Most Magical Place on Earth' at Savannah Christian (wjcl.com) — A fourth-grade teacher at Savannah Christian Preparatory School is turning her classroom into a Disney-inspired “Most Magical Place on Earth” for local students. Ashley Christopher, honored in WJCL’s Teacher Feature, draws on her own childhood struggles to create a calm, encouraging space where kids support one another and feel genuinely cared for every day.
   

2. 60 kids receive free beds as part of ‘A Place to Dream' program (wtoc.com) — Dozens of Savannah children who were sleeping on floors, couches, or sharing beds just received their own complete bed sets through the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s ‘A Place to Dream’ program. With help from Georgia Power volunteers and the Housing Authority of Savannah, more than 600 local kids have benefited so far, and the long-running Mysterious Santa program is now seeking volunteers for Christmas morning.
   

3. Savannah man receives maximum sentence after 2021 shooting (wsav.com) — A Savannah man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for illegally possessing ammunition tied to a 2021 fatal shooting in a local parking lot. Prosecutors say shell casings recovered by Savannah Police helped secure the conviction, and a judge ruled his conduct amounted to second-degree murder, adding supervised release and a fine after prison.
   

4. Benedictine back to state title game, first since 2022 (wsav.com) — Benedictine Military School in Savannah is heading back to the GHSA Class AAAA state championship game for the first time since its 2022 title run. After a 28-20 semifinal win over Marist, the Cadets will face Creekside on Monday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m., led by several seniors already committed to Division I programs.
   

5. AIWA Reports on Successful Annual Meeting (dredgewire.com) — Savannah’s role in regional waterways planning was highlighted as local Army Corps and Coast Guard leaders from Savannah units headlined a successful AIWA annual meeting. Speakers discussed dredging, navigation, port growth in Savannah and Brunswick, and federal policy shaping commercial and recreational use of the waterway, with next year’s gathering already set for Florida.
