2. Chatham County PD withdraws from Chatham County SWAT Team (wsav.com) — Chatham County Police have pulled out of the joint county SWAT team, citing safety, communication problems, and the sheriff’s use of an armored Bear-Cat at a private wedding. During the transition, Savannah Police Department’s SWAT team will respond to emergencies in CCPD’s jurisdiction. Family and friends speak out after woman burned in Forsyth Park attack (wjcl.com) — Savannah police are searching for a suspect after a woman suffered severe chemical burns in an attack near Forsyth Park on Wednesday night. Investigators released surveillance images of a person in a dark hoodie and are urging residents to help identify him. Friends say the victim, now in a Georgia burn center, hopes sharing her story will prevent another attack and keep others safe in Savannah.
