East Savannah United launches Tuition Scholarship Fund for Eastside Early Childhood Learning Center (savannahceo.com) — A new early childhood learning center on Savannah’s Eastside is getting a major boost, as East Savannah United launches a Tuition Scholarship Fund to help low-income families afford roughly $1,000 monthly tuition. Backed by Chatham County, the City of Savannah, and the Housing Authority of Savannah, the SPLOST-funded center will open in 2026 with a library, health clinic, and training hub for local childcare providers.
   

2. Vietnam now Port of Savannah's fastest growing trade partner (griceconnect.com) — Savannah’s port is seeing Vietnam become its fastest-growing trade partner, with container volumes up 38% over five years and new direct ocean services strengthening two-way trade. Local exports like forest products, food, and cotton are flowing out, while apparel, electronics, and machinery arrive from Vietnam, positioning the Port of Savannah as a key hub in this expanding global corridor.
   

3. Hearing postponed for man accused of killing local veteran; family vows to seek justice (wtoc.com) — Savannah residents following a high-profile shooting case should know the probable cause hearing for the man accused in veteran DeAngelo Shaw’s death has been postponed to Dec. 17 in Chatham County court. Shaw’s family and supporters say they’ll attend every hearing and continue pressing for accountability as the case moves through the local justice system.
   

4. Calvary Day 1 win away from first state title in football (wsav.com) — Calvary Day School in Savannah is just one win away from its first-ever state football championship after a 24–7 upset of top-seeded Fellowship Christian. The Cavaliers have dominated the playoffs and now get extra preparation time before facing Hebron Christian for the GHSA 3A-A Private title on Wednesday, Dec. 17.
