- The Savannah Police Department is looking into a shooting incident that occurred on Magazine Avenue and Gwinnett Street in broad daylight. A man was injured but his wounds are not life-threatening, and he was transported to the hospital via a private vehicle. Savannah police are currently carrying out an ongoing investigation into the matter. (WTOC)
- The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) will invest $170 million to purchase 55 hybrid-engine rubber-tired gantry cranes for the Ocean Terminal of the Port of Savannah. The terminal is being transformed into a container facility, and the new equipment will enhance its operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. Griff Lynch, the GPA executive director, anticipates the investment will enable the Port of Savannah to accommodate more vessels and cargo while preserving its exceptional customer service. - Jimmy Louis Baylor, a 45-year-old man, has been arrested by the Chatham County Police Department for allegedly committing three Peeping Tom incidents in a west Chatham County neighborhood. He has been charged with one count of stalking and three counts of misdemeanor criminal trespass. On Mar. 27, a victim informed the police that she saw footage captured by her home's security camera, which showed Baylor looking through the window of her Stalwick Drive home at around 11 p.m. the previous night.
