Here are the top three stories today in Savannah:
- Savannah Mayor Van R. Johnson participated in the White House's Communities in Action: Building a Better Georgia event yesterday. The event was meant to highlight the state's use of federal funds to support its local communities. The uses were broken into four categories: Housing, Back to Basics, Public Safety, and People & Neighborhoods. - The Savannah Police Department is preparing for the Halloween season. The department is offering safety tips to the community to ensure a safe holiday. The recommended trick-or-treat time is on Monday, Oct. 31 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. During the time period, officers will be traveling through neighborhoods. (Press Release Desk)
- The City of Savannah has created a new task force. The Savannah YALL, which stands for Young Adults Leading Locally, is meant to educate young adults between 21 and 34 years old about local government.
