Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

  1. The city of Savannah is hosting three different workshops for income-qualified residents for more energy-efficient programs. These workshops can be completed in a day and help lower monthly energy bills. These workshops are part of the plan to achieve 100 percent renewable energy in the community. (WTOC)
  2. If you plan to drive in the Savannah Historic District today, beware there may be some traffic delays in the morning due to the Publix Savannah Women's Half and 5K. Over 3,000 people are expected at the event both participants and spectators. The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Road closures around the route will begin at 6:45 a.m. and will begin reopening around 11:15 a.m. Detours will be provided in the area. (WSAV)
  3. The 35 annual Savannah Orchid Show will be going on this weekend, hosted by the Deep South Orchid Society. The show is a reminder to appreciate the little things and smell the flowers. Tickets are $5 and the event will run from 10 a.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens. (WTOC)
